I think you are dropping the [negative]camber.
I was trying to avoid the phrase "gaining more negative camber" as it seems to confuse. You are avoiding camber gain, which is the same as losing negative camber...though whether you lose less negative or gain less positive will depend on how much you had in the first place. And of course that does depends on which direction you are turning, but it all works out the positive (man I need some different words....) effect is happening to outside wheel, which is the one getting loaded up can use the extra negative camber.
An important point for high power FWD cars, is that positive caster allows for the better camber only when turning, so that the vehicle doesn't need to dial in as much static negative camber, which can hurt grip in a straight line situation.
