What parts to salvage from 5-speed SPG donor car? Posted by Notnoel [Email] (#23) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Notnoel) on Sun, 24 Feb 2008 06:39:10 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I am fortunate enough to have been given a 1988 SPG as a donor car for the 5-speed conversion of my 1990 900T vert. I've been advised on the C900 board that I can stick with my ECU from the '90. Couple of questions:
1) Does the SPG ECU from the 1988 offer any added performance over the 1990 ECU (are they even interchangeable at all)? I know I CAN use my current ECU - this is a slightly different question: do I want to?
2) Are the springs in the SPG better than those in my vert?
3) Are there other parts of the suspension system that I should be pulling before the SPG goes to crusher (it is a fairly hopeless case, with a nasty slash down the entire driver's side from a close encounter with a guard rail)?
There are plenty of other useful parts to salvage. At this point, I am just interested in those parts with an SPG pedigree.
TIA
