I don't think there's anything easy. Abbott used to make an adaptor so you could use Viggen brakes on the front of the 9000, but they stopped making it. Saabsavior used to have a kit using Wilwood calipers & adaptors, which is currently being fit to my car (I bought the last one they had). I will find out soon how it is. The Swedish tuners (Maptun, Speedparts) have some nice kits that run kinda lotsa money, especially with the weak dollar.
I guess if you want to go custom, the important part is getting the measurements right; any decent machine shop should be able to make adaptors for you for not too much. Also, you could get custom rotors made, as big as 310mm. The first set would be very expensive, since they would have to make a template for you, but after that, they would not be so bad. I guess it's an option if you're planning on keeping the car a long time.
One simple upgrade that is common which I've had on my car was to fit BMW M3 front pads on the front of the 9000. The pads you need are fronts from a 1988-1991 M3. Pick whatever pad/compound you like, I had Performance Friction, which were definitely better than the stock size, though not night and day either. The only catch with the M pads is you have to grind down the backs of the pads so they fit in the 9000 caliper - if you look at the two pads side by side it's pretty obvious where you need to grind.
I've always thought that Porsche Boxster front calipers would be nice on the front of a 9000, and they would fit with 16" wheels.
