Didn't know there was a Turbo XS boost controller for Saabs. Also, I thought a standard 170bhp CS (if that's what you have) would run .55 bar boost, which is nearly 8 psi anyway. If you were only getting 4 psi something was wrong there.
Moving on, my 200bhp CSE auto moves along pretty smartly and almost never spins its wheels. Its boost is restricted in first gear - sounds as though yours is not.
Whatever the problem is, don't worry too much about your tyres - the gearbox will implode long before they wear out.
I think you may need to start by taking the boost controller off, then get the car running properly in standard form, and then - if you want to add back the boost controller - talk to XS about setting it up.
If it were me, however, I would turn my LPT into a FPT by adding a BPC valve and a CSE ECU, so you have the protection of a standard Trionic system - or do this in combination with a tuned ECU, you can hunt around for the bits or buy a complete package designed to work together.
