To pass emissions I swap a 2.5" stock-ish system back in, but leave the headers in place, and I go to little shops out in Coachella where they don't really speak English, and haven't ever seen a Saab before, so I pass the cursury visual check.
Then I put the side-exit exhaust back on when I get home, and in 5 years of driving it around Palm Springs, my brother, my mom, my dad, and I have never been pulled over in it.
California requires 95 dB(A) sound output or less (I'm probably around 105-107 db at WOT from the last time I measured, but easily in the low 90's cruising), I just found this morning that around town for regions 35mph and less in Illinois is't 74 db(A) or less, and 84 db(A) or less at above 35mph at highway speeds.
I put a video of it below, hard to get an idea of how loud it is though.
Best,
Drew
