From what I have read you can do this mod without software. You will gain more midrange and some high end rpms. I have not done this on this car, but I have on others. You pull the valve cover, zip tie the cam sprockets the the chains so there is no way timing can jump. Remove all the caps/bolts, etc... The main problem from what I have read is the chain tensioner. I hear it's a bitch, so hopefully someone else will chime in on the removal/install. First time I would say 3 hours to do max.
