After removing the housings from the center section of my old seized turbocharger I found the turbine wheel had gotten stuck because of deposits built up on it. After cleaning the wheels and housings, I put everything back together and have a free spinning turbocharger with zero shaft play. While I recognize the need for a new upgraded turbo in the future, I now have some time to prepare the car to accommodate a larger turbo with the necessary accompanying hardware. Plus, I will now be able to continue to drive my car once I swap these turbochargers; I was going to have to wait until the end of August to get a new turbo.
