I have chopped springs before, many do not like the idea, but I know some reputable tuners that have done this and I went for it with my 9k aero and it was the perfect set-up. I chopped one coil off each spring and that lowered the car about 1" and that worked perfect with my koni adjustable shocks. Combine some 1" sas sway bars and its a very tight handling car now!
I do know many have cut the springs with the classic 900, think about where it will sit in the cradle and grind the lower coil bar flat so it sits in the cradle well. I have heard that the coil can break in some extreme conditions, but since they can be found cheap, its worth the risk in my opinion. It was a good option for my aero and would definetely do it again if I had the chance. I am going on 3 years now with no problems,
John
