Robert,
Thank you for your post!
Many customers have been employing the 2.1 liter intake manifold with a 2.0l ported cylinder head and running into similar fluctuation of boost pressures. Make certain you use the 2.0 liter intake manifold in conjunction with the 2.0 liter engine and check with your machine shop to insure that the intake and exhaust ports were of realistic size for street use. Some shops will simply remove as much material as possible but will not factor the flow required into the combustion chamber on the intake stroke. An oversized port could provide difficulties in reaching higher engine rpm. Typically, a cylinder head port size should be slightly under a same path valve head size.
Most of our customers opt to send the 2.0 liter cylinder head plus 2.0 intake manifold for full port, match, and, with a correctly mated camshaft, could target 8K engine rpm while retaining full turbocharger boost pressures.
Thanks again and please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions.
Sincerely,
Gary S. Konow at SWEDISH DYNAMICS,INC
