I have the GS 3-inch downpipe feeding into a Saab/Remus exhaust system. Both times I got the code the car was driven mildly like your experience, sort of a necessity in Mighigan winters.
It seems that catalytic converters need surface area and high internal temperature in order to do their job. A race cat has limited area due to its size, so any reduction in temperature renders it inefficient. Driving mildly drops the exhaust and Cat temperature which is what has happened to both of us. Driving hard keeps the race Cat temperature high enough to do its job.
Like your experience I had no dirveability issues whatsoever.
The anti-fouler I purchased didn't work because it was too small in diameter to be re-drilled to accept the nose of the O2 sensor. The cut aways of the adapters from Big Daddies show them as having the 18mm female thread for the full length of their body. With CELs happening on two-week intervals I should know within a month of installing the device if it has solved my problem.
