C900 FMIC Installed, now lower boost

Hi,
I installed a FMIC (yonaka type 6) on my 1990 SPG. It does not appear to have any leaks. With my old SMIC I could easily achieve 18-20+ PSI, with my FMIC I can get that about 50% of the time, the other times the APC kicks is and rolls the boost pressure back to about 16-17PSI. I checked for leaks again, but can't see an obvious source.
One thing I noticed is that my coil wire to the distributor is a tight fit under the turbo outflow pipe, and the pipe is hard against the base of the coil wire (where it enters the distributor). Is it possible that this is causing electrical interference with the APC?
thanks for any thoughts,
~Junkie
