Yea, the t5 motors are much more robust, not sure why he would recommend a t7 motor that has weak pistons and sludge issues and is known to have many failures. They are more efficient, but its not enough to make much of a difference, with the right set-up, a t5 engine will sing all day long. I like the 9k for a road race car and the ng900 for a straight line drag car.
I guess if you were going to build a motor with forged pistons, but still feel the t5 rods are stronger.
Its hard to beat a set-up like Gary Wolf for the road course, light 9k aero with suspension and a 18T, ecu tune and 4.45 gearing, its a rocket sled and he beats up on a lot of high end cars at the track every time he goes out there,
