The R valved have a dimple in the center for the tulip head. They may have used other valves in that 2004 engine, as the parts books list the R valve as NLS and the standard one as replacement.
To make things more confusing, the $20 Beck Arnley valve has a dimple in it and is made in Italy. Could it be an R valve? who knows?
If you need valve guides, the Canyon guides are very good. My shop and machinist feel they are better than OEM. OEM cast valves are $66 from dealers. Canyon is $5.00 from Pel*can Parts and others.
