Previously I would have suggested the same as Nick, just get a new head assembly from Saab for about $1200. However the price on the "R" B235 head has rocketed up to $2981.46 (pn93169239)!!

That being said, be sure your dealer is quoting you on the OE "R" valves (pn9179219) as they list at $115ea. Im thinking they quoted you for normal valves (pn9399965) as those are about $50ea.

Think about looking for a good used R head. Having the valve seals changed, resurfaced, and valve guides checked you will be better off than dumping $$$ into having your redone. Car-part has them for about $200-250.
