You could tinker with coolant/water ratios. If I recall correctly, water transfers heat better, but obviously there's a maximum amount you could use before it will boil over (or freeze in cold temps). Redline also makes an additive (Water Wetter?) that supposedly improves coolant performance. Try replacing the thermostat first; lots of people are running highly modified 9000s under race conditions and are not reporting any overheating problems. 82C or 89C thermostat shouldn't make a difference one way or another for this issue; if you're maxing out the cooling capacity of the system, the thermostat will be open constantly, and it's not like one is going to be more open that the other.
