Performance ECU Questions
Posted by Craig Bobchin [Email] (more from Craig Bobchin) on Sat, 20 Aug 2016 16:49:58
I've got an '04 9^5 Aero and it's been having some minor issues (Engine sputtering, stalling at idle, intermittent CEL, etc...) I took it to J&B in Orange and they diagnosed it as the ECU going out, there were no codes when they hooked it to the tech two. we first thought vacuum leak, or other minor issue. nut no luck there.
I was planning on upgrading to Stage 1 or Stage 2 at some point in the future, but it seems the future has arrived. So my questions are as follows:
1: How is the EEuroparts ECU? THey are on sale right now for $216 and that might be a way to go, as it's pretty affordable.
2: All the ECUs are the same price, so if I put in a stage 2 or 3 ECU with making the CAI, and exhaust pipe changes how does that affect things? Will it be more like a stage 1 or stage 2.5? I'd rather not buy an ECU multiple times, but buy say stage 3 and do teh hardware ata later date.
ANy thoughts on this?
