Air Box mod, I got Pictures and Questions

I have been surfing around this board and the 9000 board for a while searching for the best air filter mod for my Aero. After some research, I figured, from what was said on this board, that cold air in the fender was best. This past weekend I went ahead and put in the cone filter. I took some pictures of the process and the finished result. I hope this helps others in putting a filter in their 9000.
From a performance POV the car seems to pull a little harder, especially in fourth on the highway. Of course the car sounds a little more mean too. (if you think a cross between a scuba diver and Darth Vader sounds mean)
I also want some feedback from the many 9000 gurus on this page. What do you think? Good job, Bad job? Anyone think water will be a problem? Could heat still be a problem? Should I put some heat insulator on the wall between the engine and the fender?
I am not sure if all the pictues will come up, but there are six pictures.
One shows the K&N RE - 0810 filter (9" cone with 3" opening), the metal plate I made to hold the filter in the stock fender wall hole, the piece of PVC I used to connect the cone to the stock hose and my helper - a cold beer.
I also took a shot of the metal piece up close. It is just some sheet metal cut to fit, with some tabs to hold the cone.
A picture from under the car (with the plastic panel removed.)
A picture through the hole produced when the blinker is taken out.
And two pictures from above, one close and one wide (I thought I should put the sticker somewhere!)
So check 'em out and hit me back with what you think-
Thanks-
-john
