it's good to hear the jacobs works for your fuel economy. i was only concerned because you mentioned the advertised gain by the company. :) my thought with timing though was that you experienced (as far as i can rember) some boost cut back at higher rpm on your stock ignition run. my though was that by taking out the jacobs (another step in the ignition process) that your initial timing may have slightly advanced. then, your max retard would have been less at max boost and you may have hit predet thus reducing boost. so, maybe your power would have been more on your stock run if you would have sustained boost. i am still wrestling with the fact that i only had 15 psi after tapering from 19 without hitting predet. then at 5100 or so (with my lean out) the apc kicked it back to 10 or so. i should have had more, who knows how much? that will teach my to touch with apc settings right before getting on the dyno.:) don't be concerned by the band aid terminology. there are many different schools of thought. it's only a word, not a personal attack. too many people here get fired up because someone else thinks differently. but, that's the beauty of it. we have a forum to compare and discuss differing opinions. plus, you know me well enough to know that i have no reason to attack you personally, at least not yet...:)
