I mean these guys are getting this kind of horsepower from low boost pressures (6-8psi) because they are still spinning at 8000rpm. If SAAB engines could spin to 8000rpm and still breathe efficiently at that RPM, what kind of power do you think the SAAB could produce. As much or more I bet. But as people have said, these high RPM engines were not designed to handle the added load of the turbo and they often fail. Where as a SAAB with that much horespower is good to go for the long run. The thing I hate about those high RPM Honda/Toyota engines is that they have no torque I don't care how much HP they produce. Driving aroud town, I'd hate to have to shift down to first gear in a rolling turn, just to get enough power to exit the rolling turn with somekind of getup. In fact, when I was playing with a Civic SI, he lost the most ground when we would make a rolling turn, I'd be in second gear pulling like a locomotive, and he'd be waiting until his engine spun up.
