Since I have used the ERL system on my past car, I decided to "go it alone" this time and make my own similar system for much lower cost. I don't like low pressure "washer pump" systems so that route was out.
What I ended up with cost me about $25 but I did have some of the parts already in my garage that kept costs lower. I would guess you can duplicate my system for about $50-$75. My sytem is not 100% complete to my satisfaction at this time as I was missing a few parts I would have liked to put in, and may change a few things but for testing purposes It works...well.
For the pump I used a stock fuel pump from my Nissan Sentra SE-R. This will provide the much needed high pressure for injecting water into an IC pipe under boost and properly atomize the water with the ERL jet.
I used some left over ERL water nozzles I had. You can buy these by themselves as well at relatively low cost.
I simply used an oil pressure switch that is normally "open" and closes at 11psi to trigger the system.
I tapped the washer resevoir for the pump feed, used a 1/4" to 1/8" vaccuum hose connector as a "splice" between the 1/4" pump outlet and the 1/8" nylon tubing needed for the Aquamist jets. Hooked up the 1/8" nylon tubing, removed and drilled my IC tank on the outlet to the TB side, tapped and installed the .6mm water jet, removed and drilled upper IC for the pressure switch, wired everything up and tested it.
The sytem is a success. The fuel pump provides a nice high pressure flow for a fine mist like the ERL system is famous for, and the pressure switch being set to 11psi allows me to not constantly inject water in unless I'm really stepping into it.
The following are the parts I used.
One Fuel EFI fuel pump (Just about any OEM EFI pump will do, and you can probabaly buy a used one for peanuts from another EFI Mustang or turbo 4cyl guy who upgraded)
8' of Nylone Tubing: Napa Part number 770-1540
Vacuum hose plastic "splicer/Reducer" to drop from 1/4" to 1/8" hose. Napa Part Number 2-263
2' of 1/4" rubber line for pump pickup and a short piece to convert pump outlet to nylon tubing
ERL Aquamist jets. Your choice of size from .4mm to 1mm. Based on preliminary testing the .6mm flows a bit more water than I would like with the OEM fuel pump.
1 11psi Oil pressure sending switch Napa Part number OP6626 (Type 1)
That's it.
Now for the missing parts I would like: A heavy duty relay to activate the pump. My extra relay was burnt out so I had to omit it for the time being. You should use a heavy duty relay that the pressure switch activates.
I may also change the location of the pressure switch. I have a feeling that after the throttle is closed the small IC pipe see's more than 11psi of pressure and flips the water on under closed throttle. I'm not sure of this yet, but it may be.
I'm actually thinking of using a micro switch on the throttle body to turn on at 3/4 throttle+ as this system is really only needed for heavy acceleration. This may conserve water as I find the boost gauge swinging past 10psi on occasion. (And keep in mind the boost gauge reads the intake manifold pressure. Pre IC the pressure is about 2psi higher due to pressure drop in the IC so the system should trigger at about 8-9psi on the gauge)
It's using more water than a remember in my other ERL system. I used about a Gallon in 150 miles of heavy throttle driving. Not too bad but I seem to remember not using so much. The above paragraph is my current explanation of this high water usage.
I don't have pictures at this time, but I'll take some in the near future and maybe do a small web page write up if I have time.

I turned the boost up to about 15-16psi from 13-14 psi as well with the water. How does it feel? The car pulls SO much better, especially in the upper rpm range. Much smoother.
I didn't really do it as a performance mod but more for safety. Water works wonders on turbo cars and makes for safe boosting and long lasting motors.
