Hey everyone

A few days ago I heard about a SCCA Solo II course, located very close to me which will be held this Sunday (Harrisburg PA - Farm Show Complex parking lot). I read all the information, did some research, and decided I'd try this out with my 90 SPG. I have the helmet, gloves, etc, etc. $20 for 5 trial runs. Not bad.

Now, I know my 90 SPG doesn't have as much done to it as Jeff P's, WASSAAB's, etc, etc. But I'm doing this for fun, and to see what times I can get. And also.. to beat my friend's times in his 1991 VW Corrado VR6. It will be his first time too. His Corrado is brand new (to him) and is bone stock for now.

I have a decent amount of engine modifications, which I won't get into since I've heard these Autocrossing courses are all suspension & driver handling. Basic exhaust, fuel system, APC, you know the rest.

Suspension wise I have...
Intrax 1-7/10” Lowering Springs
Ate Super Blue Brake Fluid
15" SPG 3-Spoke Wheels (stock)
Yokahama AVS S4-v 205/60/15 Tires
SPG Roadhandling Kit (stock)
Bilstein Shocks (stock)

I'm just curious how you all think I might do. And especially, I'm looking for advice. I realize the best thing I can do is strap myself in and go, but I'd like to save some first round embarassment if I can. Any SPG owners have experience autocrossing? I know Mike Heyse (if youre reading this) has done some auto-Xing in his SPG. Mike if you're out there, do you have any tips?

I've heard to inflate the tires to about 40psi up front and 35psi in the rear to prevent the tires from rolling over on sharp turns.

I don't want to set any world records, I just want to go, have fun, and get a personal best that I can be happy with.......... until the next time I go ( :

I'm so excited! I'll let you know how I do!

Thanks
Taylor
