i was encouraged to learn to left foot brake at a NW SCCA autocross school. here's what they told me:
--left foot braking allows you to adjust your line in a front-drive car by inducing oversteer. this is particularly helpful for cars that push hard.
--left foot braking inputs allow smoother transitions between power & braking, which in turn increases the car's stability in transition. smooth is good. :-)
it's not for everyone. took me a while to get it to be second nature. i'm certainly no expert, but one thing that sealed my decision to try it was learning that lots of drivers in my region are using it to good effect!
