Thanks, everyone, for the encouragement! It is definitely very gratifying to have the car run after pretty much a year sitting in the garage.
Responses to specific queries:
Dan S: the motor is 'built', custom forged 8.6:1CR JE pistons, rest of the bottom end is stock but rods are shotpeened and balanced, crank is balanced. 2.3L head with Schrick 2mm oversized intake and exhaust valves, Crower cams to the old Group 6 specs (thanks Damien!).
Ubipa: the sus is more comfortable than stiff. Definitely feel the nice rebound control the Konis give, most excellent. I honestly can't say more about the springs. I think I want a bit more stiff, but we'll see with time, and especially when I push a bit harder, get the speed up. I'm still saving my US dollars to get the adjustable ride height stuff from Brad. Look for some liquidation bits from me on eBay soon! :)
The thing welded on my valve cover is a Moroso oil cap and bung. This was necessitated by the 4-speed from Sweden, which of course has the older, narrower dipstick tube.
The FPR is an adjustable AEM unit. I had to go up in size on the return line. The FPR's return port is -6, but for the life of me, I could NOT find a fitting that went from male -6 to a 5/16" hose barb. So I have a -6 male to -6 male aluminum fitting, then a -6 female to -6 hose barb, which is, what, 1/8"? I forget. It goes back to the stock return line by the shock tower/spring area with double clamps to keep it leak free. Not a big issue, obviously not much pressure on that line. One other note about the AEM FPR. I had to plug up two of the ports. For the life of me, using both teflon sealant and even hylomar, I could NOT get the -6 aluminum plug to seal. I put in a steel one yesterday and fine. But the smaller 1/8"NPT gauge port is fine with an aluminum plug. Unfortunately, I could not get my fuel pressure gauge to fit under the hood.
Gary: short shifters are available from Gary Moore (GM on the board here) or at http://www.threetrolls.com
