APC in an Audi... questions....

I have recently finished installing a full APC setup in my Audi Quattro turbo (5 cylinder) including the knock sensor, pressure transducer, and apc soleniod. I connected the ignition pulse wire to the negative side of the coil. I skipped connecting the brake cut out...
The system works fine and the car builds boost quickly. The only thing is that regardless of load or boost, the APC solenoid clicks constantly at any RPM above 3000. On the SAABs, does the APC soleniod click constantly above a certain RPM? I'm wondering if the 5 cylinder ignition pulse is confusing the APC box.
Has anyone tried just disconnecting the ignition pulse wire? Will I just get base boost?
Thanks guys...
Bill
