I disconnected the wire and just put a piece of tape on it so it wouldn't ground on anything. Car would only boost to 5 or 6 psi, where 5 min eariler it would run up to 10 or 11. So, less boost, but not sure if I'm at "base boost". Not sure what the spring alone in the Audi wastegate would give for boost. Boost seems to ramp up ok.
Interestingly enough; however. With the wire disconnected, my continuous clacking from the soleniod at anything above 3000 was gone. However, once you get out of the boost, the soleniod would click away until you were back at full vacuum. Very strange.
Any idea why the valve would click continuously at revs above 3000 rpm regardless of boost or load? Does it do this in the SAAB (at a different rpm)and I just can't hear it in my SPG because the valve is all the way up front??
