Well when Jeff and I were comparing an Erebuni one and a factory one we also noticed that since the Erebuni one doesn't have slots that it might effect cooling a bit.
A standard I.C. is blocked from getting all that much air, it has to bleed around the headlights and that doesn't cut it. It may not look like much but I think for those people with factory bumpers they should keep the slots there.
However your decision to remove the center opening bar was a good one, I kind of wish I had done so when my bumper went out to be repaired. Funny thing is now that it got fixed it actually fits better.
On the SPG front....................
I'm still waiting for my new rebuilt tranny, at the moment I'm running one with 260K + miles on it.
I removed the SPG9 big bore throttle because it leaked to much air around the throttle plate at idle giving me a PITA 1600rpm idle. Works much better now.
I sent off the big turbo to Keith Landasu to see what he can do with the thing.
I finally replumbed the H2O system the right way only to find out the Aquamist pump has a leak in it.
Other that that besides what you can see in the pictures, disassembeld my motor down to the block. Replaced everything that could give me problems in timing, cooloing, etc.....
And then I pretty much painted everything. There are a few things left to do between now and SOC, however I hope to have them done in time for the Green Mountain Saab Run.
