The claimed 0-60 time seems hard to believe considering the vehicles weight, etc.
BUT... let's not forget some other past freaks of physics. Once in a while a car does manage an improbable 0-60 times because it's weight distribution, chassis, gearing, yadayada just work for that.
Consider the 1986 Buick Grand National. I just dug up a 1986 Car & Driver test. This was a 3,520 lb fat Buick Regal with a turbo V6 putting 235hp through an automatic. The car pulled 0-60 in 4.9 sec & 1/4 mile in 13.9. Does is make sense on paper? No. But other magazine proved it as well.
The car's handling was bad and braking not so good. But it could be made to JUMP off the line by holding left foot on brake and hitting the gas to build boost before lauching. I suspect the Buick squishy soft suspension also help in that it allowed the front end to raise on take-off, dumping much of its 3500 lb load onto the rear drive wheels for traction.
And a few yrs later GM marketed the Syclone. Essentially a Sonoma pickup hunkered down on all-wheel drive chassis with a turbo V6 automatic. This time... the truck pulled 0-60 4.7 and 1/4 miles around 13.2. OUCH.
What's going to accelerate fast isn't always intuitive. Many of the most successful muscle car drag racers put power to the road through an old Chevy 2-speed (yes TWO SPEED) automatic! Sound exciting? No, but it works.
