You wire it into the headlight switch and then it will come on with your lights. You have to take out your instrument clusters and open them up to slip the new Indiglos over your old gauges. Care should be taken not to break the needles. I mounted the color and brightness on the left side right below turn signal arm where there is a nice spot. It took a few hours but I was taking my time to install them. Also make sure you note the position of your needles so you can adjust them to the proper spots. When you have your clusters out drill a heat vent hole above each bulb to prevent heat build up warping the bulb holder. I also covered the bulb contacts with a circuit board pen and havn't had any flickering bulbs. You need the bulbs to see your tack and trip meters at night.

This had been a really great upgrade over the OEM lighting and for the price you can't beat it. It will make you smile each time you look at your guages.
