Depends who you believe. It should definitely help in theory with a modified ECU. I frankly believe the amount of water the engine ingests isn't much more than a rainy day. But places like Abbott will tell you that water shouldn't be used with T7. I suppose it could interfere with the Trionic sensing functions. Why this should be different than T5 cars is beyond me but I have a hunch.
T7 measures engine torque by using the ion current post spark and knock phase to measure cylinder pressure. Cylinder pressure=torque. The knock functions (immediately post spark) may be robust, but the later phase of the ionization may be disturbed by extra water.
