I have heard above the max mark can cause foaming. Some say that shifting is better below max mark. I have tried both levels and havn't noticed a difference. I would think that the more tranny lube in there that isn't foaming, the better to resist thr heat and lubricate most effectively.
My Saab mech, who has been working on Saabs for decades filled it about 1/2" above the max mark and he said it was fine when he had put in Honda MTF on my request after tranny rebuild break in with dino. After about 1 year the Honda stuff, it is still shifting great and tranny rebuild is going strong.
Anyone have any thoughts on tranny lube level.
Thanks, KB.
