I installed an a/f gauge off the stock o2 sensor. Cute, but I wouldn't bet the farm. Cost <$100.
Then I added an EGT gauge from egauge.dot.com. Kit came with sensor, wire, and gauge(<1600F). Nice to look at but.......
Couple of personnal opinions: The a/f gauge on the stock o2 sensor is useless, but is much faster in telling you if your destructively lean at WOT. The EGT will tell you trends. Has your engine suddenly changed somehow. Because if you rely on an EGT to tell you your too lean the engine will have already melted. The EGT have a nice thermal mass type delay. Yes, there is a perfect flat spot on an C900 manifold to drill/tap the hole, but you really have to get that probe in the center of the flow. I removed the internal EGR bump while I was in there.
If I were to do it all over again I would put in the EGT and then save up for a wide band if I wanted to push the envelope.
