Some time back Nick Taliaferro and I were discussing dyno-pulls. Nick asked if I had ever noticed how much movement the transmission mount allowed. We both agreed this had to affect shifting and drive train alignment in a seriously negative way. My car - a '99 Viggen - equipped with one of John's very nice short shifters, still under acceleration exhibits poor shifting at times. Nick said he was going to see if he could do something about this. The fix arrived last Wednesday in the form of a new transmission mount. The injection material is a nice Tennessee orange. That doesn't hurt in this part of the country. The result is a fix of a problem you didn't know was there until it was fixed.
Another unexpected benefit is how much better the PACE metallic clutch I installed some time back is to live with. Anyone who has driven with a metallic clutch knows what I'm talking about. The stock transmission mount is made of material soft enough to flex with your hands and the stock mount was alowing a shudder not unlike clutch chatter. Imagine what it does when the engine is torquing. Call Nick, get the fix, be real happy.-ed
