After you have figured out where and how to hard wire the radar detector, your next problem may well be figuring out how to keep the detector mounted to the windshield. My experience has been that most of the detector windshield mounts, with the suction cups, are terrible as far as keeping the detector affixed to the windshield. What we did (1994 9000 Aero) was to mount the detector (Valentine V-1)so that the suction cups attached to the windshield and that the bottom of the detector rested on top of the rear view mirror. We then put some Velcro strips on the top of the mirror and on the bottom of the detector. This method works great in terms of not having the detector rely only on the suction cups to stay in place on the windshield.
