re-sealed it, cleaned the relief spring, and re-seated the mail seal (it was set too far in). Noticed mild scoring on the timing cover,....clearences were withing spec. installed it and now I have a little more oil pressure at idle, a quicker rise in pressure between 3-4K rpm, and it will rise to nearly 50psi after 4K rpm with almost 200F oil temp. 60spi cold idle.
so whatever I did it made a little difference. now my oil pressure at 2KRPM at 82C engine temp is over 40psi, which is spc.
still it is a little lower than years gone by, but maybe the scoring on hte cover has something to do with it, along with slightly worn internals. engine is even smoother. I can't seem to kill the engine Jak, bloody 320K km and it is still super smooth and peppy, and hte compression is damn near even as well!
