You can play around, but the most traction is going to be in the recommended range 32-34 psi...going out of the range will distort the tire. For short term performance you can over inflate the rears to loosen up the tail in an autocross, or bring pressure down in the front to give a bit more grip in a drag event...but ultimately you can't play too much and the tires will work best in their recommended range.
