... you can also turn it around and ask yourself, if a 190 hp/modest torque Integra Type-R is so so competitive against more powerful RWD car, why ruin it with an overdose of power? From people who have built/driven 350-400 bhp turbo'ed ITR I know that this kind of power seriously detracts from what is so fantastic about the basic car. In addtion, the LSD reportedly gets seriously confused at that level and things get a little hairy/frustrating out of corners. In fact, the guy that built the 410 bhp one took out the engine, put a normally aspirated 226 bhp Spoon engine back in and reported he was quicker down the track than before.
There -is- a thing like 'too much power'. No one exactly knows where that point is on a c900, but I think it's better to gently try and stretch the limits bit by bit than just going for the biggest number and see how the car copes (unless you have cash to burn!).
