James,
Hope all is well!
If not in need of additional horsepower support, the T25 replacement will be the most logical choice. It is matched to your current engine output and is optimal relative to efficiency (low charge temperature) and response to the sub 200 HP 2.0 liter 900.
If doing additional engine modifications (T5 Trionic ECU update, exhaust, intake, etc.) that would require more air volume support via your turbocharger, a turbocharger upgrade would be a more suitable integration.
The T25 could be updated through use of the T3 GARRETT 60 or Super 60 compressor wheel which would provide a better efficency when under the 225-260 BHP ranges.
Keep in mind that a turbocharger upgrade, by itself, will not render higher engine horsepower/torque but a turbocharger matched to your specific engine modifications will be beneficial by working at the lowest charge temperature possible.
Best of luck and sorry to hear about your ailing T25!,
Gary at SWEDISH DYNAMICS,INC.
