Advancing your timing will help everywhere but only if you deal with the boost retard problems these cars suffer so much from. The retard spring in the Bosch vacuum advance/boost retard diaphragm unit is way too weak for even stock boost levels much less even more boost. In other words the stock boost retard curve is horrible! Also it doesn't allow for enough retard. Either an MSD BTM or one of our A.I.D.'s can be used to correct this inherit problem. Out latest A.I.D.'s are fully adjustable however we have them so dialed in that it's usually just a bolt on, reset your timing to 20 degrees BTDC (at sea level) and go enjoy smoother power and better mileage. The BTM is also fully adjustable but from the cockpit however it requires an adjustable bleed to atmosphere valve for overall retard to work properly in our opinion. Take care, Dave
