Bending the stop only allows for more retard. The biggest problem is that the retard comes in practically all at once (wrong curve!) so correcting the amount of retard in a way makes the real problem even worse. Two of my early rare Saabs came with the factory tuning kit which includes a better ignition diaphragm with a stronger spring and they're way better even without correcting the retard limitation. Our A.I.D.'s have an even stronger spring with 3 different shims to dial them in for whatever boost level you're running. We mill the actuator arm 1mm to obtain the correct retard limit plus we also provide a tool for bending the stop without removing the unit for fine adjustments. Good question! Take care, Dave
