It was a whopping $950. I purchased it through Craig and Rob at Scanwest in Seattle, it was made by Quartermaster. Pros are: Grabs like crazy. No slippage. Incredible spool - up due to decreased weight/rotating mass.
Completely rebuildable (just replace the discs/plates). Faster clutching/shifting due to drastically reduced pedal travel. (I blocked my pedal so the slave wasn't being hammered to death, as it was the limiting factor before I did this). Cons are : Cost, obviously. Noise. Multi discs are noisy when your pedal is depressed and the plates are spinning freely, like at stop lights. A trade off I can live with. Also, by loosing all the weight of your flywheel you also loose some of the positive dampening effects. I sometimes get strange harmonics at certain RPM's during deceleration, and these cause my cat to rattle among other things. I'm still debugging those issues, and I haven't had much time to do so as I'm building a barn/shop and it's taking all of my time as I'm no carpenter. It should also be noted that I've got less than 2000 miles on this set-up, so it may be premature for me to be evaluating it. I do know that when I installed this (last Sept.) I was the only known 9000 in existence to be running it. Rob who owns Scanwest (and was very helpful, it was a bit of an ordeal as the first unit was manufactured to 900 specs(shorter input shaft, won't work on 9K) has run these in his 900 rally cars and also in his street 900.
As for engagement, it is grabby. Once you're used to it it's second nature, though you do have to feather it as the pedal throw is so much less that stock. I've certainly driven worse, though. I was fully prepared to replace my stock hose with stainless, and so far haven't had to. While it's noticeably stiffer, I expected it to be more so.
