as a chekc sensor rather than for A/F ratio calculation?
I have read that MAF cars perform a calculation based on IAT's, ECT's, MAP sensor inputs, TPS, and rpm to calculate an provide the correct amount of fuel. Then it takes this calculation and checks MAF values, does a compare and if they match within an expected interval everything is good. If they don't match then CEL - error code is thrown and possibily limp home mode is triggered.
btw - I am a memeber of the b235r cracked piston club, one of the first known members I believe.
