Hey MM, there are 2 different ways to turbocharge a motor. You can have the old school low-compression and max-boost motor that is laggy and without power under 3500 rpms, but kicks out serious power from 3500 to redline. OR you can have a midrange compression motor with a smallish turbo that has quick throttle response, great midrange power but however may run out of steam before redline.
You should realize which boat you are in (LPT) and optimize for the best outcome, which means getting a later model mitsu turbo (as opposed to garrett T3) and aftermarket divided-exh downpipe (optional but really cool!). The mitsu will spool up better than the garret T3 and fits your LPT goals better. Get a c900 intercooler and the later model IC pipes if possible. When you get the exh manifold look inside and see if it has a protrusion inside, if it does then cut it out. Stock c900T's came with an engine oil cooler, to upgrade to that would require the turbo-style oil filter housing, lines, and the cooler itself w/ bracket. The stock c900T airbox may work better because the air snorkel reaches up & over the inner fender, while the N/A snorkel takes air from the engine compartment, behind where the IC will sit (hot air region).
With the turbo itself, exh manifold, downpipe, turbo oil IN line, oil OUT line (w/ o-ring), water IN line, water OUT line, turbo-model lower radiator hose, IC w/ lower mounting bracket, IC side and top air-diverter panels, IC pipes, oil cooler w/lines and bracket, turbo airbox, etc. there are a lot of parts to think of. Hopefully you can find a single donor car for the project, like a '90 SPG or '91 and later Turbos. Good luck!
