Battery is secured with a simple L-angle hold that runs along one top edge held in place with two rod hooks that have a J-shaped end. A wing nut tightens the top of the rod hook. It's 5-piece system (2 rods hooks + nuts + angle hold).
A complete illustration and original parts list is available at SaabSonett.org. Go to PARTS ARCHIVE section, search ELECTRICAL SYSTEM under major functional area, then select BATTERY & CABLES detail.
Note that Sonett II is slightly different from Sonett V4/III.
Batteries also had some pad protection on front and passenger side, as well as an insulating pad for the L-angle hold.
