It all depends on the rim width. 4.5" for the soccerball, right? and it depends on how hard you drive the car I guess. I've seen several with 195/60's, but that was years ago.
The other thing is rubbing. Seems that every car is different. Some call them almost "hand built". What works for one car doesn't work on another. I've seen comments from people that had problems with 175's. Aspect ratio comes into play as well. Jack Lawrence sells widened soccerballs. Pricey, but nice! He moaned and groaned at me with my 185's on the standard size.
I've read a bit about going to wide tires. Car and Driver had an article about it a while back. And their point was that wider doesn't mean better handling. It's all about contact patch area, which is quite constant with tire width.
If you get the 195's let us know how it goes.
