While I know that I'm in the minority, I actually kind of like the look of the big bumpers! They provide some balance to the high front and low, flat rear end to my eyes. Elegant? No more than an elephant in a tutu but not cosmetically offensive to me either.
The first Sonett that I'd ever seen in person was my parts car. The second Sonett that I'd ever seen was my runner/project car. I'm 6'1" and fit comfortably in the cabin. It's a tight fit for sure but it doesn't feel claustrophobic to me -- especially compared to my old Audi TT. And, I've bumped my head on the roof enough times on bumpy roads to know where I need to take it slow. Ease of ingress and egress is also akin to that elephant in a tutu but, as others have said, once seated I find the seats quite comfortable for what they are.
It's not a modern vehicle by any sense of the imagination. It's loud, rattles a lot and feels like it's doing 40 mph when you're just rounding out at about half that speed. And, I love it for all of these reasons. It's just a blast to drive and be seen in. I've got two little kids and they are constantly fighting over the passenger seat. My only complaint is that it can't fit the whole family!
