You might try acetone or lacquer thinner. There is a carb cleaner (I can't remember the name of it right now) that will remove anything organic and leave the carb spotlessly clean. (It will eat plastic or nylon parts if you put them in it.) It is very dangerous to get on your skin as it burns. We used to buy it in a five gallon pail and it came with a basket for dipping the parts. If the acetone or lacquer thinner doesn't work, this stuff will.
I'll post it if I remember the name of it.
