Hey, Rich and I are in the same boat, we both have seized engines on cars. I keep saying I'm going to part out this thing but keep changing my mind.

What does a rebuild run on these things, and how does it compare to the cost of a running junkyard V4? I'd like to just knock the cylinders loose, hone the block and throw it back together (as opposed to having the block bored.) Assuming that the block isn't too far out of shape, what does a refresh kit cost and who sells them?

Assuming that the block needs to be bored and the crank turned, who sells 10 over bearings and 30 over pistons for these things and what would that kit run?

Obviously, I'm trying to go low-buck here. If there's aftermarket stuff availiable cheaper then I would prefer use that over more expensive Saab (Ford?) OEM stuff. This was a Ford engine; were they used in the States?
