Jim,

I've used the method of supporting one side of the engine with a jack and 2x6 on the oil pan many times on various VSaabs with nary an issue or damage of any kind. That said, I do take other peoples VSaab experiences very seriously and will reconsider. Have you had a bad experience or seen pan damage due to this method? Was it with a particularly rusty oil pan?
