Weber Carburetor Jets Posted by Richard Dee [Email] (#2272) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Richard Dee) on Thu, 16 Aug 2018 09:03:13 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
So you may have seen my Sonett Battery question.
I recently bought a blue and silver 1973 Sonett III. Some of you probably saw it on ebay.... the one where the owners welded in a lot of new sheet metal. So the steel is solid but there are still a few things to sort out. SO I have a number of questions but will post each one separately for clarity.
This engine has the single barrel Weber carb and a manual choke.
Even on a hot day it won't start without pulling out the choke. Then after I take a brief run and stop, after even 15 or 30 minutes parked, it won't start again without the choke. This is a new one on me... my other cars always started without the choke after they are warmed up, especially in the summer. Also I rarely needed the choke in hot weather.
Ideas are welcome. Could it be that the Weber is simply jetted way too lean?
Can anyone specify the jets that should be good for South Carolina ???? close to sea level ... hot summers....
Is there some other issue that I should consider?
Thank you,
Richard in SC
P.S. : next question about transmissions
