Thanks for ur responce. In discussions about the valve guides it’s been repeatedly pointed out that repairing the head will put increased pressure on those old rings n likely cause them to leak. At my age I would rather find a (well rebuilt motor) at a fair price (I’m not looking for charity) and get the job over with once n for all,, and I rather do it before we start going threw
“ Rainy Season “ as we like to call it. If I can get a rebuilt motor in, I can then get the car up nice n high, padded and covered, n properly stored in case we have to evacuate. U see we lost our house to Irma in 2017 n reciently moved into a replacement home. We’re still not completely unpacked. So ultimately I think a rebuilt motor is the best option but as I pointed out living this far away from any SAAB resources it’s going to take some (SAAB Buddies) help to make it happen. So any suggestions, resources, persons I should talk to would be most helpful. I’m not looking for a hot rod motor, but l open to some mild performance enhencemants. I’m sure the (Jack Lawerance) re-built gearbox can handel it. Input needed.
